INUWA International develops community-led initiatives that advance human rights, health, education and sustainable development. Our work focuses particularly on young people, women and communities experiencing inequality or limited access to opportunities.
Through advocacy, capacity-building, education, partnerships and practical community action, we seek to strengthen people’s ability to protect their rights, improve their well-being and participate meaningfully in decisions affecting their lives.
Youth Leadership and Empowerment
INUWA International’s Youth Leadership and Empowerment initiative seeks to equip young people with the knowledge, skills, confidence and opportunities they need to participate meaningfully in their communities.
The initiative recognises young people not only as future leaders, but as important partners and changemakers today. It aims to create inclusive spaces where they can develop leadership abilities, express their ideas, understand their rights and contribute to decisions that affect their lives.

Our Approach
INUWA International plans to work with young people through workshops, mentoring, peer learning, community activities and partnerships with schools, civil-society organisations, public institutions and responsible businesses.
Young people will be encouraged to help shape the initiative so that its activities reflect their priorities, experiences and local realities.

HIV, Health and Human Rights
INUWA International’s HIV, Health and Human Rights initiative seeks to advance health, dignity and equality through accurate information, community education, advocacy and the reduction of HIV-related stigma and discrimination.
We recognise that HIV is not only a health issue. Poverty, gender inequality, violence, social exclusion and limited access to confidential healthcare can increase vulnerability and prevent people from seeking testing, treatment and support. An effective HIV response must therefore protect human rights while addressing the social conditions that influence health.
Our work promotes HIV prevention, voluntary and confidential testing, access to treatment, informed decision-making and respectful, person-centred healthcare. We also support greater public understanding of HIV and challenge fear, misinformation and attitudes that marginalise people living with or affected by HIV.
People living with HIV must be recognised as leaders and equal partners in the response. Their lived experience, knowledge and voices should guide the policies, services and programmes that affect their lives. Through community engagement education and partnerships, INUWA International aims to help build communities where everyone regardless of HIV status can access quality healthcare, exercise their rights and live openly and safely, free from stigma and discrimination.

Women’s Empowerment and Entrepreneurship
Through its Women’s Economic Empowerment Programme (WEEP), INUWA International seeks to strengthen women’s leadership, financial independence and capacity to build sustainable businesses.
We recognise that women’s economic empowerment extends beyond income. It includes the confidence to make informed decisions, exercise their rights, participate in community life and shape their own futures. Yet many women face barriers such as limited access to training, finance, markets, mentorship and professional networks.
WEEP provides a supportive environment for women to develop business ideas, strengthen entrepreneurship and financial-management skills, improve products and services, understand customers and markets, and address business challenges. Participants receive training, mentoring, peer support and opportunities to share progress, learn from one another and build professional networks.
The programme encourages women to become financially independent, support their families, create employment and contribute to stronger local economies. Participants are also supported to grow into community role models and future mentors who can inspire and guide other women.
INUWA International is committed to delivering this work in a safe, respectful and accountable environment that protects participants’ privacy, dignity and personal information.
By investing in women’s leadership and enterprise, we aim to build stronger businesses, more resilient families and communities where women can participate fully and equally in economic and social development.
Agriculture and Sustainable Livelihoods
INUWA International’s Agriculture and Sustainable Livelihoods initiative seeks to strengthen food security, household resilience and economic opportunity through climate-conscious agriculture and community-led enterprise development.
We recognise that small-scale farmers and rural communities face interconnected challenges, including climate change, unpredictable weather, declining soil quality, limited access to training, finance, technology and reliable markets. These barriers can reduce agricultural productivity, weaken household incomes and increase food insecurity.
The initiative aims to equip farmers particularly women and young people with practical knowledge and skills in sustainable farming, soil and water conservation, climate-resilient production, post-harvest management and agribusiness development. It also promotes entrepreneurship, value addition, market access and diversified livelihoods to help communities reduce economic vulnerability.
By connecting agricultural knowledge with enterprise development, INUWA International seeks to support participants in moving from subsistence production towards sustainable livelihoods. Our approach encourages local ownership, responsible use of natural resources and solutions adapted to each community’s needs and environment.
Through training, mentorship, demonstration activities and strategic partnerships, we aim to help communities increase food production, strengthen incomes, create employment and build resilience to climate and economic shocks.
Our goal is to contribute to a future where communities can produce nutritious food, protect their environment and build dignified, sustainable livelihoods for generations to come.
